Arlinda’s case, Musliu: No organiser has the right to privatise citizens’ revolt

DPDK’s exclusive, Ganimete Musliu, has reacted through a post regarding the protest in the Arlinda case, saying that pain and demand for justice should not be adopted by any party or organisation.

Musliu has stressed that the protest should be open to all citizens seeking justice and accountability from institutions, despite their political affiliation.

Arlinda is nobody’s property. Even her death cannot be transformed into a tool to exclude other voices from the request for justice. The protest is for citizens. It’s of anyone who believes that a woman’s life is worth more than statements, speeches and tears spilled to cameras, Musliu wrote on Facebook, broadcasts Clankosova.tv.

She has said she will not participate in protest to protect any political party, but to seek justice, responsibility and institutions that protect the lives of citizens.

I don’t go to protest to protect any party. I go looking for justice, responsibility, and institutions that protect life. If there has been neglect, disregard of danger or institutional failure, there should be impartial investigations, concrete responsibilities and legal measures against anyone who has failed in his task. Not just promises. Not just statements. Action!

The MP has also criticised efforts to adopt the protest, stressing that no party should limit the citizens’ right to account.

No party has the right to privatise Arlinda’s pain. But no organiser has the right to privatise the citizens’ revolt. Justice is not built with ultimatums against citizens, with threats of confrontation or division among those who should be together. It is built by directing the revolt where it should be: the responsibility of those who have been assigned to protect life has written Musliu.

Musliu has stressed that justice for Arlinda and women’s security should be the responsibility of all society, not the issue of party interests.
