Mickoski: Europe is becoming a quiet volcano, every day we see protests

Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski, at the ceremonial academy on the 23 October Revolutionary Macedonian War Day, warned that instability in Europe and the Balkans could also affect Macedonia, accusing some from the opposition of being willing to participate in political provocations for personal interests.

The Balkans is no longer the only powder keg. After all, Europe is becoming a quiet volcano. The reason is getting less and less attention, and every day we see protests, violence in different forms present in Europe and among our neighbours, Mickoski said.

He stressed that in the Balkans, services never stop working, and that he would not be surprised if there were efforts to transfer regional problems to Macedonia.

I would not be surprised if there were those who tried to involve us in their problems or transfer some of their atmosphere to our daily life, the prime minister said.

Moreover, he pressed charges against the opposition, claiming that there are political actors who can participate in such activities because of personal interests.

As for local actors, for such a game it’s too easy. There are some of the opposition who can do wonders for money and false promises for a armchair, the prime minister said.

Mickoski called for increased awareness of citizens and warned against yielding to provocations, artificially imposed questions and, as he called them hyperbolised ethnic themes.
