Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has filed claims on terms of staying in Fieri prison, where he says he has been placed in solitary confinement for 10 days and that he is in the same corridor with three persons sentenced to life imprisonment for serial murder.

In a letter from prison, Veliaj says he is kept in solitary confinement without water, without windows and without medical care.

He also adds that he has been denied food and that he has not been given any reason for the transfer and isolation.

Insulated for 10 days, without water and windows, without medical care, food refusal, no reason for transfer/isolation, no phone calls for family and lawyer, in the same corridor of three serial killers with life imprisonment, Veliaj writes.

His statements relate to the detention conditions and the manner of transfer to Fieri prison.
