A British pensioner has become a millionaire after selling a collection of Pokemon cards for 1.56m pounds (1.8m euros), which he had kept in the attic for about 15 years.
The man, a former home painter from Woking, in Great Britain, discovered that his collection had an extraordinary value only after reading an article in a local newspaper.

He sold a single Pokémon card for more than 7100 euros. This information moved him to examine the collection he had kept for years and to discover his true value.
The collection was sold on Wednesday at an auction organised by the EWbankʹ auction house for the amount of 1.8m euros.
According to the auction house, this sale represents the largest record ever achieved for collection cards in the history of Great Britain.
The case proves that objects that may appear to be common and that remain forgotten for years can gain extraordinary values, especially when it comes to rare items sought by collectors.
The Pokémon cards, linked to one of the most popular pop culture phenomena, have been turned over the years into items sought by collectors, while some are sold for large sums on the auction market. /Telegraphy/
