Hamza has said that the responsibility to lead the party since 2020 had taken over responsibility to the political subject, not personal ambitions.

He has stressed that during his leadership he has focused on preserving party unity.

Hamza has made it clear that his resignation from the post of chairman does not mean his departure from the PDK, expressing commitment to remaining part of it.

I’m not leaving PDK. I’m leaving the mayor’s position only, but not because of my faith in our political values. As long as I have life, I will be loyal voters of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and a member of this large political family, Hamza has declared.

Among other things, Hamza said this decision gives way to a new electoral process within The PDK, through which members will decide on the future leadership of the party, stressing the importance of greater youth involvement and opportunities for them to take responsibility.
