Switzerland bans the activity of eight domestic care companies, patients were endangered

Swiss authorities have banned the activity of eight private home care organisations in the country’s Francophone, following the investigation of irregularities related to patient safety, lack of qualified personnel and illegal fatage.

According to public broadcaster research RTS and the Swiss newspaper Le Nouveleste, five companies were operating in the Valais Canton, two in Neuchâtel and one in Vaud, broadcasting Telegraphy.

During the raids in Valais, the authorities found that two patients were specifically endangered, while for another six, there was a risk of health.

Among the recorded violations were mistakes in care management and medicine, incomplete files of patients, and lack of nurses.

In addition, a company is suspected of billing mandatory health insurance for services not covered by it, including cleaning and shopping.

The case has raised concerns about the quality of home care and working conditions, while authorities are increasing controls to ensure the safety of those in need of care./Telegraphy/
