President of the United States Donald Trump has declared that the fight with Iran is expected to end soon, without providing concrete details about when this could happen or how an agreement between the parties can be reached.
In an interview for the radio Kansas City RadioJust days before the mid-term elections for the American Congress, scheduled for 3 November, Trump spoke of developments related to Iran and the possibility of the end of the conflict.
His statement comes at a time when high US fuel prices and the debate over fighting Iran remain important issues in the country.
Trump stressed that Washington wants assurances from Tehran that it will not supply nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
He also claimed that oil prices would drop rapidly shortly after the end of the war.
