Russia bombards Kiev with rockets several hours after agreeing to resume talks with Ukraine

Russia has conducted a massive attack on Ukraine, shelling Kiev with ballistic missiles just hours after Vladimir Putin said he had agreed to resume trilateral negotiations after talks with US envoy Steve Whitoff.

During the night, Moscow bombed the Ukrainian capital, killing at least two people and injuring 22 others, including four children. Targets included the southern bridge over the Dnieper River, homes of civilians, energy infrastructure, an ambulance station, office buildings and a clinic, writes The Guardian.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said three of the missiles were carrying atom nuclear heads. One hit the Pechersky neighbourhood, damaging several historical structures, including a monastery, broadcast the signal.

This is another extremely revealing attack, because it wasn’t accidental, Zelensky said. The choice of a weapon was deliberate; the choice of a target area was deliberate, and so was the goal of causing as much loss and damage to civilians. )

He said the attacks showed Russia did not take peace seriously, adding: Almost immediately after another round of talks, Russia launched a fierce attack. This means that there has been no real change in her attitude toward all that is happening. )

During negotiations Wednesday in St Petersburg, Wtkoff praised Putin, who was sitting opposite the table. You talk so much about my president, President Trump, as a humanitarian. You too are a humanist, sir, and I welcome this, Witkoff said.

In a post on social networks following the early hours of Thursday, Zelensky issued a sarcastic response: Three waves of ballistic missiles have been launched in Kiev by Russian officers since last night. They used 21 rockets. )

Zelenskyy said he was grateful to those Western Ukrainian partners who saw him for what he is and acknowledged the reality that the Kremlin had little intention of stopping her fight. He called for stronger air protection, Patriot interceptive missiles that could bring down enemy missiles and more sanctions against Moscow.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andri Syhbiza, added that the association, servilism and flattery would not stop Russian aggression.

Downing Street said he did not know of the Witkoff description of Putin, stressing that the Russian president had killed thousands of Ukrainians and his soldiers on the front line.

On Wednesday, Kremlin foreign affairs adviser Yuri Usakov said Putin had agreed in principle to resume trilateral negotiations involving Russia, the US and Ukraine after November 10th, a week after the US Muslim elections. In reality, Russia’s goal is to destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the coming weeks, leaving millions in darkness and cold, officials in Kiev believe.

According to Zelensky, the US has resumed intelligence warnings of Russian missile attacks. The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Trump phoned Elon Musk to ask him to cancel the Starschild slowdown, military version of Musk’s Starlink satellite system, which had left Ukraine unable to detect enemy fears or conduct attacks on the middle-range battlefield. Some Ukrainian officials reportedly told the Journal that the system had worked a little better since the phone calls, but others said it was still very limited.

The New York Times reported that when the slowdown was established last week, dozens of armed fears aimed at Russian military targets fell from the sky. Videos broadcasting their flight routes were suddenly disturbed as the connection to Starschild was lost, the paper said.

Vladimir, commander of an air defence unit protecting Kiev, said US restrictions had hampered his entity’s ability to capture Russian fears. Of course it’s getting in the way. Our drivers can no longer achieve the speed needed to capture enemy targets, he said, adding that he felt betrayed by Washington.

The decision to paralyse Ukraine’s successful intimidation programme came amid the most serious dispute between Washington and Kiev since Russia’s full invasion nearly five years ago. This started after Trump announced that he was removing sanctions on Russian oil to cut US fuel prices, a move Zelensky criticised as weak.

Administration Trump denies he is deliberately helping the Russians. But European diplomats agree that the United States seems to have switched sides. As a result, Ukrainian civilians say, they are dying.

Russia, meanwhile, said it had toppled hundreds of Ukrainian fears launched during the night attacks. One man was killed and another injured as a result of a Ukrainian air strike in Russia’s Belgorod region, local authorities said.

Also, details of a Ukrainian counterattack came to light through a tunnel in the northeastern town of Kupiansk, which Russia partially invades. As part of Operation Veles, the Khartia Corps carried out the world’s first underground attack, advancing 15km on the enemy’s rear lines.

We observed how the enemy acts in secret and studied his methods. The Russians intended to use gas pipelines to infiltrate the rear of our forces, broadcast the signal. So, we ourselves hid, Khartia Commander Brigadier General Ihor Oboliensky told Ukrainian media.

Ukrainian soldiers dragged 15km through the tunnels without communication, GPS or light since they had previously developed their navigation technologies and life support. About 100 Russians were killed in the operation and 30 were taken captive, Khartia Corps said.
