Rama reacts after the protest wound: You are the darkness that shut that boy’s eyelight

Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has reacted following the injuries of a protestor from Elbasan during the recent protest in Tirana, saying he has personally dealt with ensuring his medical treatment in Italy.

Through a social networking post, Rama has expressed regret at hurting the young man, but has criticised organisers and promoters of violence, making them responsible for the consequences that violent protests may bring.

I’m very sorry when whoever hurt physically, even a violent protester, but how can any possible injury be avoided if violence dictates the nature of a protest?!

He has announced that he has committed himself to providing treatment for the young man at a hospital in Italy, as well as to transport him on a medical plane.

I’ve already taken it personally since last night to ensure the child’s treatment at Italy’s best hospital, as well as to transport a medical charter, the prime minister has declared.

In his reaction, Rama has criticised those who, according to him, are using the young man’s injury to further fuel political tensions.

You are the darkness that shut that boy’s eyelight, wrote Rama, addressing those whom he describes as inciting violence.

He has further accused his opposers of exploiting the opportunity to incite hatred and confrontation.

You are the fingers and nails of the hand of the curse that haunts Albania since 1912, closing its eyes every time this country sees light!

Rama has also claimed that in violent protests there are individuals who, according to him, promote and finance participation in violent acts, including minors.

At the end of the response, the prime minister has stated that, according to him, the promoters of violence will not achieve their goals.

The prime minister’s reaction comes after the protest in Tirana, which was accompanied by clashes and acts of violence. Rama has used the opportunity to repeat the call against violence, while leading the charges against those considered responsible for its instigation. /Telegraphy/
