Kosovo Police Inspectorate ( The IPK has launched investigative and verifiating actions regarding the way Kosovo police handled the reported cases by Arlinda Zekij, who was killed on October 25th.

In a response to Dukagjin, the IPK has indicated that actions are being taken with the authorisation of the State Prosecutor and are aimed at full verification of the actions and procedures followed by police officials during handling its reporting.

According to the IPK, media concerns raised over the actions of responsible police officials, including communication with the victim, response time and treatment of each reporting that relates to the case, will also be considered during this process.

Within this process, The IPK will also review all media concerns about actions undertaken by responsible police officials, including without even limiting communication with the victim, response time, and any reporting that relates to this case.

The IPK has indicated that the goal is to assess whether police actions have been in line with law, procedures and legal obligations, as well as to identify individual and institutional responsibilities.

The inspector has stressed that he will address the issue in co-ordination with competent justice institutions, professionally, impartially and consistently, respecting the integrity of the investigative process.
