Former Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has reacted after the assassination of 49-year-old Arlinda Zekaaj, criticising Interior Affairs Minister Jedal Svecla, and Justice Minister Donika Grovalla.
Through a social networking post, Hoti has said that responsibility for institutional failures cannot be concealed behind the system’s links, since, according to him, they are led by people who need to render an account.

He has stressed that Arlinda had sent signals of the danger she faced, but the institutions failed to protect her.
Hoti has demanded Svechla’s resignation and Gervala, naming it a form of accountability for the case.
They don’t fail themselves. Those who lead them fail. Six years in power, Mr. Svechla. Six years in charge of protecting women, Miss Gervala.
Arlinda sent you the signals. You let them through. Ten minutes after leaving home from law enforcement, she was dead.
You’re hiding behind the girls today. But the links have a name. They have a minister. Accounting is not a report. He quit. He wrote Hoti.
The signal where the truth speaks before the news!
