BArcelona and Real Madrid face tonight at one of the most important season matches in La League, with the race for the title in the spotlight.

The Catalans have six points more than the madrill rival, and the victory would lead to nine points away.

Such advantage would put Barcelona in a very favourable position and would have drawn significantly to the champion’s title.

However, Real Madrid has the opportunity to change the situation. A victory in El Classico would narrow the gap to only three points, fully reopening the race and adding pressure on the ongoing Barcelona championship.

The rivalry between the two Spanish giants is also remarkable in a historical way. In all official confrontations, Barcelona and Real Madrid have between 106 victories, while 52 matches have ended in the draw.

In La League, the Madrillians have a slight advantage, with 80 victories against Barcelona’s 77, while 35 confrontations are closed without winners.

Lionel Messi remains the best goalist in El Classicos’ history with 26 goals, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldos and Alfredo Di Stéfanos, who have scored 18 times.

Tonight, Barcelona seeks to strengthen its way to the title, while Real Madrid aims to give a turn in the race for the Spanish championship.
