Kosovo police have detained for 48 hours a foreign citizen, suspected of fraud and legalisation of false content, after allegedly using counterfeit authorisation to sell the property of a family member in Kosovo.

According to the Police’s report, investigations were conducted by the Pristina Financial Investigation Sector under the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, under the authorisation of the Basic Prosecutor at Ferizaj.

The suspect was interviewed on October 21st, after initially appearing in police as a complainer on another occasion.

According to police allegations, she had used a forged authorisation, secured at a swimmer outside Kosovo. The document was allegedly prepared by presenting an unknown person with her uncle’s records, but with the photograph of the unknown person, as if he had authorized him to sell his property in Kosovo.

Police announce that the suspect had tried several times to sell the registered parcels on behalf of her uncle, while in two cases she allegedly managed to sell them. In the latter case, she allegedly sold a parcel worth about 150 thousand euros.

After the interview ended, in co-ordination with the Constitutional Prosecutor in Ferizaj, the prosecutor of the case has made a decision to stop her for 48 hours.

The case is being investigated for criminal acts such as fraud and legalisation of false content.
