The Great Britain Embassy in Pristina has expressed deep grief at the murder of Arlinda Zekaj, who was addressing Kosovo institutions for protection, for fear her life was in danger because of domestic violence.
No one who takes the bold step to seek help should remain without protection, said the embassy’s response.

The embassy has stressed that women who face the risk of domestic violence must rely on finding the necessary security, naming their protection as fundamental security issues.
According to the embassy, the case of Arlinda Zekiaj underscores the need for institutional actions that put survivors in the centre, effective co-ordination among institutions, accountability and access to justice.
At the end of the response, the British Embassy has expressed condolences to the victim’s family and relatives, hoping that justice will be served.
